    About Me and Angling Coaching

Hello and welcome to A Specialist's Perspective

I am Rob and I have been fishing since about the age of 7. My early fishing days were spent at small day ticket ponds with my Dad, who was an out and out pike angler until I came along. Catching small roach, perch and the occasional trout gave me the bug. As I got older, my interests in the sport grew and I soon progressed to fishing the local harbour and breakwater for mackerel, mullet and bass. However, at about the age of 14 I got the taste for course fishing back and particularly carp, tench and pike. Before long, I was focused on carp fishing and for many years was heavily into the South West carp scene. Carp fishing became everything, and apart from a bit of pike fishing in the winter, was my sole focus. This persevered until 2018 when I made the decision to get back into specialist angling and I haven't looked back since. I now fish for the biggest fish I can, regardless of the species and love mixing it up! Carp fishing will always be my true passion, however my love of tench, pike, eels, crucians, roach, perch and bream has really developed and I hope to continue to target true specimens, both from the South West and further afield.
